Illustrious Companion of the Royal & Select Masters of the Year

The Illustrious Companion of the Year Award is presented in recognition of an Illustrious Companion whose exemplary service, steadfast dedication, and consistent contributions have distinguished him among his peers within the Alpha Omega Illustrious Grand Council, Royal and Select Masters, Washington Jurisdiction, P.H.A.

This award honors a Companion who embodies the highest ideals of Cryptic Masonry through faithful service, active participation, and meaningful impact at both the Council and District levels. The recipient demonstrates not only commitment to the success of his Council, but also a deep dedication to the advancement of the Craft and the strengthening of the Fraternity as a whole.

This distinction is awarded based on documented, measurable performance during the year, including:

• Consistent Council Engagement, evidenced by regular attendance and active participation in scheduled assemblies, degree work, and Council initiatives.
• Support to Council Operations, including contributions to ritual excellence, mentoring of Companions, and assistance in the execution of Council programs and events.
• Demonstrated Leadership and Initiative, reflected through voluntary service, committee involvement, or leadership roles that directly enhance Council effectiveness.
• Contribution to Membership Growth and Retention, through active recruitment efforts, mentorship of new Companions, or initiatives that strengthen fraternal bonds.
• Participation in Grand Council Activities, including attendance at District meetings, Grand Sessions, and other jurisdictional events that support the broader mission of the Grand Council.
• Adherence to the Principles of Cryptic Masonry, exemplifying integrity, humility, fidelity, and devotion to the teachings and traditions of the Royal and Select Masters.

The Illustrious Companion of the Year represents the very foundation of the Craft, a Companion who works diligently, often without recognition, yet whose impact is clearly seen in the strength, stability, and success of his Council.
