HISTORY

Royal and Select Masters, (Prince Hall Affiliation), came from the state of Tennessee to the state of Washington in February of 1999. Three charters were issued by The Most Illustrious Charles F. Williams Grand Council. Representatives from those three Councils formulated a previous Prince Hall Grand Council as well as changed the numbers of those three Councils.

Recognition status for that previous Prince Hall Grand Council was removed by the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge, Washington and Its Jurisdiction on August 2, 2024. On January 15, 2025 (Masonic Year 2024-2025), Most Worshipful Grand Master Terrell D. Hicklin appointed York Rite representation to initiate re-establishment of a Grand Council so restoration of recognition and harmony would prevail.

On March 24, 2025, the Alan W. White, Sr. Prince Hall Grand Council from the state of Indiana sanctioned the establishment and assisted in the guidance of three new Councils to be Under Dispensation (UD) in the state of Washington.

With the Dispensation in place, three Councils were instituted:

➢ Headquarters (HQ) Council UD – Washington State
➢ Enrique R John Council UD – Germany
➢ James Sheppard Council UD – South Korea

On April 24, 2025, Most Illustrious Grand Thrice Illustrious Master Tyree L. McGraw, Sr., KYCH of the Alan W. White, Sr. Prince Hall Grand Council from the state of Indiana granted full rights and Charters to the three original Councils that were Under Dispensation. Representatives from these three Councils formulated a new Grand Council and a Grand Charter was issued by the Alan W. White, Sr. Prince Hall Grand Council from the state of Indiana to the state of Washington on April 24, 2025.

The newly formed Grand Council was formally recognized as the Alpha Omega Illustrious Grand Council Royal and Select Masters Washington and Jurisdiction (PHA) and that same day, the Most Illustrious Grand Thrice Illustrious Master Dennis P. Garrett, KYCH, officially granted Charters to the three original Councils, now recognized as:

➢ Headquarters (HQ) Council No. 1- Washington State
➢ Enrique R John Council No. 2 – Kaiserslautern, Germany
➢ James Sheppard Council No. 3 – Pyeongtaek, South Korea

On July 12, 2025, Most Illustrious Grand Thrice Illustrious Master Dennis P. Garrett, KYCH, granted Charters to 6 additional Councils: 

➢ Silver Trowel Council No. 4 – Tokyo, Japan
➢ George Branom Council No. 5 – Everett, Washington
➢ Zarthan Council No. 6 – Tacoma, Washington
➢ Micaiah Council No. 7 – Doha, Kuwait
➢ Job Council No. 8 – Manama, Bahrain
➢ Josiah Council No. 9 – Dubai, U.A.E

On November 20, 2025, Most Illustrious Grand Thrice Illustrious Master Dennis P. Garrett, KYCH, granted a Charter to: 

➢ Tamaudun Council No. 10 – Okinawa, Japan

Through this formalization, each Council received full authority to operate under the Alpha Omega Illustrious Grand Council Royal and Select Masters Washington and Jurisdiction (PHA), securing their rightful place within the global Prince Hall Masonic community.
