Companion of the Year Award
The Companion of the Year Award is presented in recognition of a Companion whose dedication, service, and example have made a significant and measurable impact on their Chapter, District, or the Terrell D. Hicklin Grand Chapter. This award honors a Companion who consistently embodies the principles of Royal Arch Masonry through active participation, dependable service, and a demonstrated commitment to the welfare of the Craft.
This distinction is awarded based on both exemplary conduct and quantifiable contributions, including:

- Documented attendance and participation in a minimum of 75 percent of Chapter convocations, degree work, or official functions during the year.
- Active involvement in at least two Grand Chapter, District, or Chapter level initiatives, committees, or special projects with clearly defined outcomes.
- Demonstrated support of Chapter operations through verifiable service such as assisting with degree work, administrative functions, mentoring Companions, or event coordination.
- Consistent adherence to financial and administrative responsibilities, including timely dues payment and compliance with Chapter requirements at a 100 percent rate.
- Positive peer and officer evaluations reflecting reliability, cooperation, and a willingness to serve beyond assigned duties.
- Measurable contributions to Masonic education, community outreach, or charitable activities through participation, instruction, or leadership.
The Companion of the Year Award recognizes those Companions whose faithful labor and personal commitment strengthen the foundation of the Chapter and inspire others to greater service. Recipients of this award set a standard of excellence through action, accountability, and unwavering devotion to the ideals of the Holy Royal Arch.
