Meritorious Service Award

The Meritorious Service Award is presented in recognition of a Sir Knight whose exceptional service, dedication, and contributions have significantly advanced the mission and effectiveness of their Commandery, District, or the W.E.B. DuBois Grand Commandery. This award honors a Sir Knight who has consistently demonstrated a high standard of performance, reliability, and commitment through sustained and impactful service to the Order.

This distinction is awarded based on both exemplary conduct and measurable contributions, including:

Documented service and participation in a minimum of 75 percent of Commandery Conclaves, Orders, drills, or official functions during the year.

Demonstrated leadership or critical support in Commandery operations, including administration, logistics, planning, or execution of programs and events with verifiable outcomes.

Active involvement in at least two Grand Commandery, District, or Commandery-level initiatives, committees, or special assignments that contribute to mission success.

Consistent adherence to financial and administrative responsibilities, including timely dues payment and full compliance with Commandery requirements at a 100 percent rate.

Proven reliability and professionalism as reflected through peer and officer evaluations, including the ability to execute duties with minimal supervision and a willingness to support the Commandery beyond assigned roles.

Measurable contributions to Masonic education, Christian service, community outreach, or charitable initiatives through participation, coordination, or leadership.

The Meritorious Service Award recognizes those Sir Knights whose sustained efforts, discipline, and commitment strengthen the operational excellence of the Commandery and contribute to the continued success of the Grand Commandery. Recipients of this award exemplify the highest standards of service, embodying the principles of duty, honor, and chivalric excellence within Knights Templar Masonry.
