Eminent Commander of the Year Award
The Past Eminent Commander of the Year Award is presented in recognition of a Sir Knight whose leadership, discipline, and service have distinguished their Commandery and advanced the mission of the W.E.B. DuBois Grand Commandery during the Masonic year. This award honors a Past Eminent Commander who exemplifies excellence in chivalric leadership, ritual proficiency, member engagement, and faithful stewardship of the office of Eminent Commander.
Recipients of this award demonstrate measurable leadership outcomes that reflect both the effectiveness and lasting impact of their service. Quantifiable criteria considered for this recognition include, but are not limited to:
- Commandery Engagement: Documented increase in average attendance at Conclaves, drills, and official Commandery activities during the term of office.
- Leadership and Command Presence: Effective leadership of officers and Sir Knights, demonstrating discipline, accountability, strategic direction, and the ability to inspire unity and purpose within the Commandery.
- Support of Grand Commandery Initiatives: Active participation in Grand Commandery Conclaves, district meetings, and jurisdictional programs, with documented Commandery involvement and support.
- Administrative Excellence: Timely and accurate submission of reports, dues, and required documentation to the Grand Commandery, maintaining full compliance with no deficiencies.
- Ritual and Tactical Proficiency: Demonstrated excellence in the conferral of Orders, drill command, and ceremonial execution, ensuring accuracy, uniformity, and adherence to the traditions of Knights Templar.
- Membership Growth and Retention: Net increase in membership, successful knightings, and demonstrated improvement in Sir Knight retention through active leadership, mentorship, and engagement.
